Summer Romance

Last night was TIFF in the park, TIFF sets up a giant movie screen in the park and people bring blankets and watch for free. Last night 'The Notebook' was playing {btw my fav movie eva! Isn't it every girls?} so J and I grabbed some Subway and had a picnic on our blanket while we watched. {so romantic} they even handed out free bags of caramel corn.

Fearless Girl's Weekend

My girlfriends from back home {Chatham,  C-Town} came to Toronto for a mini vacation. We bought a groupon deal for a one night stay in a suite at the Sheraton hotel and two Canada's Wonderland passes it was such a great deal. Early Saturday morning they drove down picked me up and we headed to our hotel to check in and get our tickets. We arrived at the park shortly after about 10:30 -11ish am so we had the entire day to spend at the park. First stop was the Leviathan, Wonderland's newest ride. We knew the line would be long since everyone wanted to try it out. {It's one of the biggest and tallest roller coasters in the world with a whooping 306 feet drop}.
It was seriously soo fun and thrilling I loved it.

check out this video from YouTube if you don't believe how scary/fun this ride was.
{video from YouTube}

We had such a blast all day going on different rides & roller coasters.

I'm happy here...{before the ride started}
Posted a picture on istagram. We all had to check it on our own phone.
Even Woodstalk gets a seat.

Thank goodness for this. I woke up feeling so sick with a huge headache. {I may have been dehydrated}

First Impression -Manduka Eko Lite Mat

Disclaimer; this mat was purchased with my own money, the views & opinions I'm about to discus are my own.

I've been needing/wanting to purchase a new yoga mat as mine is starting to break down and I've been having bits and pieces of the mat break off while I've been practicing. SOOO that lead me to start researching different companies and mats I mean ALOT!! All day - evrDAY for the past month!
My yoga studio sells 'Manduka' so I began there, right away this company seem to have the best mat out there {for me}, that being said the criteria for a good mat can be a bit subjective. Some people like a yoga mat that provides a lot of cushioning and support, whereas others prefer less cushion and may more traction. Manduka says its mat is • eco- responsible •light weight & compact • durable design •slip resistant •longevity. These were all things on my list! So jackpot, right?!?  Well I didn't want to stop there so continued to research to be far and Manduka just seemed to be the one. So I bit the bullet and I bought one. I purchased 'Eko lite 68" mat in purple. Its a beauty. it even has a cute tree bark like pattern on the top of the mat. I'm not going to get into to much detail about it as I want this to be about my first impression of the mat & in a few months time I will write a full review of it.

Now for the  review;

Last night I took my new mat to practise hot yoga,
  • Firstly when I removed it from the packaging the smell of rubber filled my entire condo it was quite awful but I knew with it being made from tree rubber it was going to smell I just didn't realize how bad, so the fact that I than had to run out the door to get to class with my smelly mat wasn't good I was praying my walk there would air it out. {anyone looking to purchase a Eko lite or any other rubber made mat air it out a few days or week prior to use}.
  • I laid my towel down on top of my mat as I usually do for hot yoga but I wanted to give a true first impression review so shortly after we began I took the towel off and started to slip right away both on my hands and feet.
  • I do have bad knees so I did notice the lack of padding with this mat when knelling. I felt some discomfort but that happened with past mats as well I just doubled my towel and its was fine.
  • The mat is lightweight to carry and rolled up tightly.
Overall, the mat was comfortable to practise on. This is just my first impression and thoughts of the mat, I will have a follow up post in a few months once I break the mat in.

H A P P Y W E E K E N D

Let me start by saying I’m NOT okay with the fact that fall is around the corner, Don’t get me wrong, Fall will always be my favorite season. I love wearing big comfy sweaters and jackets & the sweet smell of pumpkin scent. But for some reason I don’t want it here yet, I don't feel we got a full summer, we hardly had summer weather... with either rain or the hot hot scorching muggy heat {the don't wanna leave the air conditioned house kinda heat}, I'm going to say thats hardly summer! A few nights ago I was leaving my yoga class at 8:45pm and the sun had already gone down. It was sad, the realization is setting in that summer nights will be over very soon, or they already are and its only the beginning of August!

With that being sad these next few weekends that are left I'm going to take full advantage of.

Last night the husband and I went to the jays game, the seasons almost done sad face {I promise this post will not be depressing -it says happy in the tittle}. Before the Friday games the Roger Centre has a 'Friday Fan Fastival' to geteveryone  pumped up for the game. They have music, drinks & games with prizes. Last nights prizes were mason jars with bucket hats inside {so cute i cant wait to use it!} The Jays were playing the Oakland 'A' and they got their butts smoked boo.

This morning I'm trying out Ariel yoga with a friend so that should be fun {I'll write another post if its worth it} Than Sunday my friend and I are going to yet another Jays game {can you tell Ilove  baseball?} They're giving a Brett Lawrie bobble head away to the first 20,000 fans {hope we get one, he's so dreamy}
Thats how my weekends going so far what about yours?
