Maybe next time Halifax

As we strolled along the cobblestone path near the river looking for the best place to enjoy a lobster dinner... This is how I wish this post begin unfortunately, our family trip to Halifax ended before it began. We had planned to fly out Sunday morning and extend our long weekend trip till Tuesday but, because our seats are standby we basically were forced to cancel. Apparently everyone decided they wanted to visit Halifax too.  Ugh! {so not impressed}

Onward...

 The In laws still came to spend the weekend in Toronto and partake in some city fun {maybe stroll the streets pretending we're tourists}, it seems we've spread our love around most parts of the city and I must say the weather was heavenly, couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

Saturday afternoon we {J had to work} headed down lakeshore to check out the Caribbean carnival paraide. I mean it wasn't quite what we were expecting when greated with a giant 8 foot fense to gawk through at the paraide. |not my kind of fun| none the less the costumes looked fabulous {from what we could see}

but, we quickly got bored so we took to the streets paths of HarborFront we strolled around for a bit, waited a short time in a long line at Amsterdam Brew house than realized we'd be better off going to a different bar.  We ended up next door at World Cafe with a nice view along the water to watch the boats sail past and children in canoes and paddle boats make their way around the tiny Natrel rink. We laughed our butts off at one child who had a cup to bail the water out of the back of his boat and another little girl who didn't seem to noice the water rushing in the back of hers and her butt sinking into the water.

We salvaged the rest of the afternoon once J got home from work with a glass {or two, or three, or four} of rosé and a little BBQ action for dinner.

Sunday basically we ran all over the place. We hit the city bright an early, I mean noon seems early enough when your on vacay & maybe a little hungover from too much wine and Cranium from the night before {blame it on the veggie juice but I was feeling like a freaken super hero}
We did a little shopping on Oueen West then wondered uptown to Kensington Market for the afternoon. We enjoyed window shopping at the produce markets, ate some tacos & had some real lemon-lemonaide. Next on the list was a vist to China town, apprently dad thought Kensington was China town huh? Not sure how one can confuses the two but I guess if you've never been. lol

We ate dinner at Big Daddys Bourbon Street Bistro. It was a cute place on King east with great eats of southern creole style food.

△ delish coconut chicken tenders Mmmm

Monday J & I woke up and walked over to the perentals hotel to get them for breakfast. We had a relaxing afternoon played a bit of catch in the park then enjoyed lunch, a few beers and sangria at the amsterdamn patio over looking the water.
